Mayor Callaghan announces plans to celebrate Rochester’s 300th Anniversary in 2028

During the City Council meeting on the March 8th, Mayor Paul Callaghan announced plans to assemble an ad-hoch committee to plan the City’s 300th Anniversary celebrations in 2028.

According to the Mayor, the committee will be comprised of a variety of representatives, from city staff and elected officials to business owners and community volunteers.

“The year 2028 marks the 300th anniversary of our settlement,” said Callaghan. “The first task of the committee will be to set up a meeting schedule and plan a public listening session in order to get ideas from the community.”

Callaghan says he wants the celebration to “reflect the attitude and pride of the people of Rochester”.

The first meeting and a list of committee members will be announced in the next several weeks. This post will be updated.
