No cash, no booths: Dover, Rochester tolls going all-electronic on Spaulding Turnpike

Construction has started on two all-electronic tolling stations along the Spaulding Turnpike in Dover and Rochester, the first of their kind in New Hampshire.

All-electronic tolling is different than open-road tolling, which is currently in place on Interstate 95 in Hampton, which is a combination of electronic tolling as well as traditional cash toll takers.

All-electronic tolling is a cashless process with no toll booths, no toll takers, no stopping and starting for any driver, even those without the E-ZPass transponders that are scanned by sensors for payment.
