The city is poised to add hundreds of new housing units with a mix of apartments, condominiums and single-family homes.
In a report to be given to the City Council, Planner Shanna Saunders said 13 projects that are already in development or are coming soon will bring 545 new residences.
“None are completed yet, but a couple of the projects are already taking applications” from potential residents, Saunders said. A number of projects are under construction.
The total of 545 units does not include phase 2 of The Ridge development, where the city expects to see a proposal for 200-plus housing units on land adjeent to the well-known shopping plaza off Farmington Road. The Ridge housing plans have not yet been presented to city land use boards because the zoning change to allow housing there was only recently approved.
