Two rescued, 12 displaced in Rochester fire

Firefighters rescued two people stranded on the roof of a porch during a Bridge Street fire that displaced 12 residents and killed one cat Sunday afternoon.

Assistant Rochester Fire Chief Tim Wilder said the two individuals were forced to climb out a second-story window onto the porch’s roof “due to the fire conditions impinging on their normal path of egress” out of their 17-19 Bridge St. duplex Sunday.
