Rochester NH History: Rare Rochester Postcards

Published on

Earlier this week, the Rochester Historical Society and Museum released a video presenting a collection of rare postcards highlighting Rochester’s remarkable history.

Postcards were popular in the late 1800s to the mid-1900s. At the time, it seemed like any scene could be made into a postcard. Some included scenes of public buildings, hotels, streetscapes, cultural events, and natural resources.

The Rochester Historical Society & Museum is located on Hanson Street, in downtown Rochester. Open Thursdays from 1-4pm and for special events. Visit www.rochesternh.gov/history to learn more.
