Library to host ‘The Survival Story of Moose in New Hampshire’ on 3/20

Published on

The Rochester Public Library, in collaboration with New Hampshire Fish and Wildlife Stewards, will host a free program called ‘The Survival Story of Moose in New Hampshire’ on Monday, March 20th at 6 pm.

This presentation covers a brief natural history of moose in New Hampshire, where they are most likely to be found in the state, and how climate change is impacting their survival.

You will learn that moose are skilled swimmers, how parasites decrease moose survival, what their current population is around the state, and what you can do to help the largest member of the deer family. Also, learn about how NH Fish and Game is working to better understand the issues facing moose and developing strategies to save this large icon of the New Hampshire north.

The program will be held in the Community Room, on the second floor of the Rochester Public Library, 65 South Main Street. Registration is required. For general inquiries and sign-up information, call (603) 332-1428 (ext. 2) or visit the Main Desk.
