Assistant Chief Mike George promoted to Rochester Fire Chief effective 3/16

On Wednesday, March 12, City Manager Katie Ambrose announced that Mike George will be promoted to the position of Fire Chief for the City of Rochester, effective March 16, 2025.

“Mike is incredibly dedicated and is a well-respected leader both within the organization and throughout the Rochester community,” said Ambrose. “These qualities paired with his experience, integrity, and proven leadership in Rochester made him an excellent candidate for Fire Chief.”

Mike has been in the fire service for 34 years and a member of the Rochester Fire Department for 23 years, serving in the positions of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, and Assistant Fire Chief.
