City Manager hails Arbor Day Tree Giveaway a Success, Thanks Eversource and Arbor Day Foundation

City Manager Katie Ambrose is pleased to announce that the Arbor Day Tree Giveaway at the Rochester Ice Arena was a great success, thanks to Eversource and the Arbor Day Foundation.

The event drew strong community participation and helped advance sustainability efforts in Rochester with more than 100 trees and shrubs distributed to residents.

“The mission of this event was to promote sustainability, reduce energy costs, and increase green space throughout the community,” said Ambrose. “Special thanks to Eversource for selecting Rochester as a giveaway site this year. Also, thanks to the Recreation & Arena staff who facilitated the event.”

The initiative is part of Eversource’s broader commitment to environmental sustainability across its three-state service area. By planting trees strategically, residents can help reduce energy costs, improve air quality, and enhance their property.
