The Office for Public Information and Community Engagement is pleased to announce the return of Civics 101, an informal community-based learning course designed to educate and empower citizens to become active participants in municipal government.

Civics 101 covers a variety of topics, including “How Rochester’s Municipal Government Works,” “How to Find Information,” “How to Vote (and why it’s so important),” “How to Make Your Voice Heard,” and “How to Get More Involved.”

The free course is a one-time session held quarterly in the City Hall Annex on the second floor, located at 33 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH. It is open to Rochester residents only. Registration is encouraged, but all are welcome to attend.

“Civics 101 is an excellent opportunity for Rochester residents and business owners to learn more about their local government and how they can get involved,” said Matt Wyatt, Public Information and Community Engagement Manager.

The next course will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 10 am. Click here to register online. Participants are encouraged to bring paper and a pen for note-taking. Laptops, tablets, and other Wi-Fi-enabled devices are optional. For additional information and general inquiries, contact Matt Wyatt at (603) 330-7195 or matthew.wyatt@rochesternh.gov.
