Downtown Architectural and Public Art Walking Tour planned for 5/17, open to public

The Arts & Culture Commission and Historic District Commission will be hosting an Architectural and Public Art Walking Tour on Wednesday, May 17th, at 5 pm. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and cover about 1 mile.

The walking tour will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from local experts about the history of the area, while also sharing their input on the Cultural & Historic Master Plan. According to Senior Planner Ryan O’Connor, Master Plans provide the opportunity for long-term planning and create a conceptual framework to guide growth and development.

“We want to make sure that our Master Plan reflects the values and needs of our community,” said O’Connor. “The Natural Resource and Cultural & Historic Resource Chapters are especially important, as they help us preserve the character and heritage of our City while promoting sustainable growth.”

The Walking Tour is open to the public and will start at the Parson Main monument, in Central Square, at 5 pm.
