At approximately 7:40 pm on Saturday, August 19th, Rochester Police, Fire, and Frisbie EMS responded to the intersection of South Main St and Portland St, by the old Royals Pizza, for a two-vehicle accident with serious injuries reported involving a car and motorcycle.

As a result of the accident, the roadway was shut down and traffic was diverted for several hours while emergency personnel tended to the scene.

The motorcycle operator was transported from the scene and later died at the hospital due to the injuries sustained during the accident.

Police, with assistance from the Strafford County Regional Technical Accident Reconstruction Team, continue to investigate the accident. Police are not releasing the names of those involved in the accident as family members are still being notified.

More details will be released at a later time.
