Eversource warns of a major storm to impact New England region

Published on

In case you missed it, Eversource sent an emergency text alert warning customers of a possible winter storm event that could impact the region.

According to the text, Eversource says they’re “preparing for a major storm to impact New England Monday afternoon into Wednesday morning”. The forecast calls for wind gusts as high as 45 mph in coastal areas and higher elevations. Snow and rain in some areas may topple trees, bring down power lines, and cause power outages.

“We’re monitoring the forecast and making final preparations to respond to damage or outages caused by the nor’easter expected to impact the region in the coming days,” said Eversource via text message. “Challenging travel and work conditions for crews could prolong restoration. We’re positioning crews and equipment across the state in advance to be ready to respond as soon as it is safe.”

Eversource says they’re ready to respond quickly and safely. Click here to learn about ways to prepare for the possible storm.
