Published on

Did you know that the Rochester Police Department has a Police Cadet Post? If you are between the ages of 14 and 20, you’re eligible to participate—even if you’re from a neighboring town!

The Rochester Police Cadets meet bi-weekly during the school year to explore many aspects of police work. These meetings offer cadets hands-on experiences and insights into a career in law enforcement.

Here are just a few of the topics covered last year:

  • Traffic Stops
  • SWAT Operations
  • Police Response to Domestic Violence
  • Police K-9 Units
  • Evidence Collection
  • Firearms Safety
  • Defensive Tactics
  • Interviews and Interrogations

The Rochester Police Cadets will host their first meeting of the year on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the 2nd Floor Lecture Hall at the Rochester Police Department.

Everyone is welcome to attend and learn more about the program! Please consider sharing this information with anyone who may be interested. Financial assistance is available upon request.
