Interim Superintendent Fulgoni Chosen to Lead Rochester School District

SAU #54, the Rochester School District, partnered with the New England School Development Council (NESDEC) to assist in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools.

As part of the NESDEC search warranty, NESDEC consultants were provided to facilitate and support the search process. An 11-member screening committee, composed of members of the Rochester School Department, members of the School Board, and community stakeholders, was formed. Two meetings were held by the NESDEC consultants to train and review the process with screening committee members.

After screening 10 applicants, the screening committee agreed to interview six candidates. One candidate withdrew prior to being interviewed. The remaining five were interviewed and, subsequently, three finalists were moved forward. Before the finalists were publicly announced, one withdrew from consideration, leaving two finalists to be considered by the School Board. One of the two remaining candidates was the current Interim Superintendent.

A meeting of the School Board was held and, after much deliberation, the Board decided to enter into negotiations with Interim Superintendent Fulgoni for the position of permanent Superintendent of Schools.

The School Board and Fulgoni have agreed on a contract for him to be the next Superintendent of the Rochester School District.
