Library plans to “Thank a Rochester Cop” with upcoming family-friendly events

As part of the initiative to “Thank a Rochester Cop”, the Rochester Public Library is excited to announce two upcoming events meant to bring the community together to thank the members of the Rochester Police Department.

Story Time with an Officer and Popsicles with Police offer families and community members a unique opportunity to interact with local law enforcement in a fun and lighthearted atmosphere.

Event Details:

  1. Story Time with an Officer
    • Date: Wednesday, September 13, 2023
    • Time: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
    • Location: Library Lawn
    • Description: Join us for a delightful Story Time and movement session with a Police Officer, followed by interactive playtime with our play cart. This event is designed for children aged 2-6, but individuals of all ages are welcome to attend.
  2. Popsicles with Police
    • Date: Thursday, September 14, 2023
    • Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
    • Location: Library
    • Description: Enjoy a cool frozen treat and engage in friendly conversations with members of the Rochester Police Department during our Popsicles with Police event.

Children’s librarian Christina Paquette stated, “Both events are meant to serve as an opportunity for families to thank the police while providing a space for the police to engage with the community in fun, lighthearted activities.”
