MrSippy BBQ opens on South Main Street

Published on

MrSippy BBQ is the latest restaurant to open in Rochester, on South Main Street, in the former Benedict’s Grill location.

Owner, Cecil Abels III, describes his offerings as a blend of traditional BBQ styles, including “Mississippi, Carolina, and Memphis… with a touch of Texas and Alabama as well.”

The finely curated menu features hickory-smoked pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, smoked tofu, and baby back ribs. They also provide a wide variety of sides and sauces, meats by the pound, wine, and local drafts.

“MrSippy BBQ was born out of a love for food, fire, music, and having a good time with friends and family,” said Abels. “Rochester has a lot of potential and the city staff is doing a lot to help businesses. I’m excited to immerse myself in the community, build more relationships, and support Rochester in every way possible.”

Michael Scala, Director of Economic Development for the City of Rochester, describes the MrSippy BBQ as another quality addition to the city’s ever-growing number of dining establishments.

“We’re thrilled to welcome MrSippy BBQ to Rochester,” said Scala. “We went to lunch during their soft opening and everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food. The service was fantastic and we encourage everyone to give it a try.”

MrSippy BBQ is located at 184 South Main Street in Rochester, NH. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 11am-7pm. Visit www.mrsippybbq.com or call (207) 200-4060 for more information.
