Notice of Public Hearing: Proposed Supplemental Appropriations for Countywide Warming Center and School Budget Appropriations

Notice is hereby given that the Rochester City Council will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH, relative to the following matter:

  1. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,316,530.00 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW COUNTYWIDE WARMING CENTER
  2. RESOLUTION DEAUTHORIZING A PORTION OF THE SCHOOL DEPARTMENT’S GENERAL FUND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT NEW SCHOOL APPROPRIATION AND AUTHORIZATION OF A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE FY2026 SCHOOL GENERAL FUND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN

The Rochester City Council will conduct a public hearing in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH, to take citizen input on the following questions:

  • whether to authorize supplemental appropriation of $1,316,530 for the purpose of paying the City’s portion of the costs associated with the construction of the New Countywide Warming Center on property owned by Strafford County in Dover, New Hampshire
  • whether to deauthorize $160,000 from the School Department’s General Fund Capital Improvement New School project and authorize supplemental appropriation of $160,000 to the School’s General Fund FY2026 CIP fund for the purpose of paying costs associated with buying a new pick-up vehicle/plow and property maintenance

Copies of the proposed Resolutions are available in the City Clerk’s Office.

Citizens are invited to attend the PUBLIC HEARINGS and to ask questions or otherwise speak on the foregoing proposal.
