Recreation Department Partners with Legal Experts to Host Presentation on Elder Financial Exploitation

The Rochester Recreation Department is collaborating with New Hampshire Legal Assistance, Justice in Aging & Fair Housing, and 603 Legal Aid to organize a comprehensive presentation on Elder Financial Exploitation. The event aims to provide valuable insights and legal strategies to empower seniors in Rochester and the surrounding area.

Attorneys from NH Legal Assistance, Cheryl Steinberg and Judith Jones, will lead the presentation, shedding light on common challenges faced by older adults and offering effective legal approaches to help seniors maintain their homes. They will delve into the importance of safeguarding against financial exploitation, while also discussing the availability of benefit programs designed to support seniors in aging-in-place. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the range of services provided by New Hampshire Legal Assistance and seek answers to their specific questions.

Marketing Program Coordinator Nicole Lee expressed enthusiasm about the program, stating, “We’re very excited to offer a program that can be useful to so many of our seniors.”

The presentation is scheduled to take place on May 23, 2023, at 10:30 am, at the Rochester Senior Activity Center, located at 150 Wakefield St, Suite 10. The event is open to the public, and there is no cost to attend. While registration is not mandatory, participants are encouraged to register to receive email updates in the event of any schedule changes.
