Rochester and Dover Elks Hold Annual Hoop Shoot Contest

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM, the Rochester and Dover Elks hosted their Annual Lodge Hoop Shoot Contest at the Rochester Recreation Gym.

Rhoda Rivera, Esteemed Loyal Knight of the Rochester Elks, served as the event chairperson for Rochester Lodge #1393. District Chairs Scott Welch and Jim Clark, both members of the Rochester Lodge, were also in attendance. A large group of volunteers from both lodges came out to support the event.

The first-place winners will advance to the District Contest, scheduled to take place at Nashua High School South on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Registration for the district competition will begin at 9 AM.

Rochester Contestants and Results

8–9-Year-Old Boys

  • Klay Tompson: 1st place – Score: 16
  • Owen Spiers: 2nd place – Score: 10

10–11-Year-Old Boys

  • Gandewa Lumanauw: 1st place – Score: 12
  • Kingston Digilio-Fowler: 2nd place – Score: 8 (Won tie-breaker)
  • Braydon Beauvais: 3rd place – Score: 8 (Lost tie-breaker)
  • Joshua Abreau: 4th place – Score: 6

12–13-Year-Old Boys

  • Joshua Johnson: 1st place – Score: 17
  • Gael Linck: 2nd place – Score: 15
  • Keegan Tompson: 3rd place – Score: 14
  • Lucas Devine: 4th place – Score: 9
