Rochester Police Department accepting applications for 9th annual Citizen’s Police Academy

The Rochester Police Department will be holding its 9th annual Citizen’s Police Academy starting in April of 2023. Citizens who participate in this program will be exposed to the many facets of their police department through presentations by department employees, hands-on training, and ride-a-longs with police officers.

The class meets weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6 pm to 9 pm for eleven weeks, starting April 11th and concluding June 20th. All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the commencement of the Academy, or 15 years of age or older if accompanied by a parent or guardian. The class is limited to 20 participants and will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, with preference being given to Rochester residents.

Applications can either be mailed or dropped off at the Rochester Police Department or emailed to andrew.swanberry@rochesternh.gov. A signature is required on each application.
