During the Police Commission meeting on Wednesday, February 5, Rochester Police Chief Gary Boudreau recognized three outstanding individuals for their dedication and service.

In his remarks, Chief Boudreau explained that each year department staff submit nominations for three awards, including Support Person of the Year, Officer of the Year, and the Chief Ted Blair Memorial Award. This year, a record number of nominations were received, reflecting a strong culture of peer recognition and appreciation.

Support Person of the Year
Shauna Andreoli, administrative technician in the records department, was named the 2024 Support Person of the Year. Andreoli has been with the department since 2021 and serves as the first point of contact for visitors. Recognized for outstanding professionalism, customer service, and ability to handle challenging interactions with a calm demeanor, Shauna plays a key role in assisting the public and processing records requests.

Police Officer of the Year
Officer Brian Dale was named the 2024 Police Officer of the Year after receiving eight nominations. Since joining the department in 2022, he has been recognized for his dedication, problem-solving skills, and strong rapport with the community and staff. Described as proactive and self-motivated, Dale has taken the lead in addressing concerns from the community and hosting ride-a-longs for residents and prospective employees.

Chief Ted Blair Memorial Award
Detective Matthew Kimball received the Chief Ted Blair Memorial Award for his professionalism, leadership, and dedication. Kimball, who serves in a leadership role with the Strafford County Regional Tactical Operations Unit, was recognized for his work in internet crimes against children, digital forensics, and his willingness to support and mentor fellow officers. His nomination highlighted his ability to maintain a positive attitude, even when handling difficult cases, and his commitment to the mission of the Rochester Police Department.
