At 8:13 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, Rochester Police, Rochester Fire, and Frisbie EMS responded to Amazon Campground off Whitehouse Road for the report of a motor vehicle that struck a trailer and then left the scene. The trailer was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a gold Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with a sole male driver. They reported that the vehicle was speeding out of the campground when the driver lost control and struck the trailer. Officers are attempting to identify and speak with the driver regarding the incident. This investigation is ongoing.
At 9:38 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, Rochester Police, Rochester Fire, and Frisbie EMS again responded to Amazon Campground off Whitehouse Road for the report of a male who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, first responders located a male suffering from a very minor puncture wound and a long scratch to the abdomen. The male received treatment from EMS and was released at the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that the suspect had gotten into an argument with another male. The argument escalated, leading to a knife being pulled. Both parties were known to one another.
Lee McHugh, 22, of Rochester, New Hampshire, was arrested and charged with one count of First-Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, and Criminal Trespass. McHugh was arraigned on July 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the 7th Circuit District Court in Rochester.
