    Book Group: Summer Reads

The Teen Summer Reading Program begins with a kickoff at 5 PM in the Community Room on Monday, June 16th. It runs through Sunday, August 24th.

Teens can choose from weekly prizes (a book, Golick’s ice cream, or a Jersey Mike’s sub). Random prizes from the Opera House and Barnz’s Barrington will be awarded to teens who consistently read throughout the summer.

Raffle prizes will be awarded at the end of the summer, including an art kit, reading baskets, an autographed baseball from Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story, tickets to the Sea Dogs, and other great prizes donated by local Rochester businesses!

Book Boxes have been added to the Teen Room’s offerings. Teens can fill out a form (available on the website: rpl.lib.nh.us/teens) to receive two or more book titles along with a few small gifts. Books are returned, but the gifts are theirs to keep!

Teens are also welcome to drop by anytime to use the makerspace, play games, solve scavenger hunts, or check out a book or Playaway. Additionally, the Teen Room carries Spaulding summer required reading titles.

These Teen programs are part of the library’s ongoing efforts to engage teens, foster learning, and provide a welcoming space for information, studying, socializing, and reading,” said Amy Lemelin, Teen Librarian. “The Teen Room is always evolving with our teens’ needs in mind.”
