At approximately 2:30 pm on Tuesday, June 18, New Hampshire residents received an automated emergency public safety alert indicating that State 9-1-1 services were down statewide, potentially causing delays in public safety responses.
In response to this alert, New Hampshire 911 issued a clarification via social media:
“The New Hampshire Division of Emergency Services and Communications is aware of the statewide 911 outage in Massachusetts. New Hampshire 911 is not impacted by this outage – we are fully operational and have received no reports of callers unable to get through to 911.”
The Division of Emergency Services and Communications operates New Hampshire’s 911 Emergency Number System, ensuring instant access to police, fire, and emergency medical assistance from any wired, cellular, or VoIP telephone in the state. The Division also manages affiliated mapping, database operations, technical, and administrative roles, as well as the Bureaus of Radio Communications Maintenance and Interoperability. New Hampshire 911 provides a nationally accredited, state-of-the-art emergency service response to both residents and visitors throughout the state.
