Weekly update from the Rochester Public Library

Browsing Appointments: Browsing by appointment is back! There are a limited number of appointments per hour so call before coming in. Daily hours vary so please see the website for a current listing. Curbside pick-up and appointments for computer/copier/Wi-Fi use will continue to be available.  Masks must be worn, completely covering the nose and mouth as recommended by the CDC, for the entirety of library visits. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please call 332-1428 ext 2.

RPL-To-Go: RPL-To-Go is available for anyone uncomfortable choosing books in person. You can request books, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks and even magazines. Just place items on hold in our catalog, call 603-332-1428 ext. 2, or email us at rochesterlibrary.togo@gmail.com with your requests.

Isinglass Book Recommendations Video: Abby and Jessica share the 2021 Isinglass Book Award Nominees on our latest YouTube video. You can find it here on our website. Go to https://www.rpl.lib.nh.us/ and scroll down to the YouTube symbol.

Tax Forms and Info: We have tax forms available to pick up in the lobby by the Children’s Room entrance. To make an appointment with AARP Tax Help call 211. The Library does not make any appointments for tax help.

Computer Appointments: The Library continues to offer appointments to use a Computer, WIFI, Copier, and Newspaper Reading. Call 603-332-1428 ext. 2 and speak to a librarian to schedule an appointment. Photocopies cost $0.15 each and printouts are $0.10 per copy.

Children’s Room Programs:

Frog Flycatcher Take It & Make It Craft: Families can pick up a craft kit beginning March 6th through Saturday, March 13th or until they are gone, whichever happens first. Pick-up times are during library open hours only. The kits will be inside the Children’s Room entryway. (One kit per child please.) An empty cardboard toilet paper or paper towel tube will be needed for this craft!

Story Time to Go: We are continuing to offer Story Time to Go: a pre-packed bag with books, a simple craft idea with directions, and a set of activities based on a certain theme. These kits are geared for kids ages 2 through 6, but the whole family can participate! You can request a Story Time to Go kit by calling 332-1428 x2. Please let us know which theme(s) you would like, and for what age range.

Available Themes: At the Farm, Crocodiles & Alligators, Food, Great Outdoor, Growing Up, Monsters, Pets, Pirates, Winter/Snow, Things That Go

Little Free Library: When stopping by for your browsing appointment or RPL-To-Go pick-up, stop by and check out our Little Free Library. Help yourself to a book, DVD, or any of the other items out there. They are free for you to take home and enjoy. It is located in front of the Library, near our sign.

Remember that the Little Free Library is NOT a book drop, so please don’t put any items you are returning in there. Use the Drive-Up Book Drop for books, and the Book Drop located next to the Children’s Room entrance for DVDs, music CDs, and audiobooks.
