The Rochester Public Library is pleased to announce its featured artists for the month of December, showcasing works by Ezra Brown and Marie Lejeune.
Ezra Brown, a 25-year-old artist based in Rochester, is displaying a selection of acrylic paintings complemented by contemporary bead and textile work.
Marie Lejeune, former Children’s Librarian and current Director of the Rochester Public Library, presents a selection of unique pottery.
Reflecting on her artistic journey, Lejeune shares, “Although I love painting and drawing, my skills didn’t warrant any college-level study. So I’ve dabbled in art; primarily in mixed media and various fiber arts. Then, in February of 2020, I signed up for a class to learn how to use the potter’s wheel. It was canceled after only a few meetings because of the pandemic, but I’d already fallen in love with the medium. Several years later, I was finally able to try again, and these are the results.”
The art will remain on display throughout December at the Rochester Public Library, 65 South Main Street.
