Chamber of Commerce announces results of “Friday the 13th” Raffle

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the results of this year’s Chamber Raffle! All 325 tickets in this year’s raffle were sold out two weeks prior to the event. Underwritten by D.F. Richard Energy, a “Change Your Luck on Friday the 13th” Chamber Raffle event was held on Friday, August 13, 2021. In addition to the in-person event held for ticket holders, the raffle was also live-streamed on Facebook, sponsored by Cremmen Creative, for those wishing to watch from home. A reverse raffle drawing, sponsored by Atlantic Broadband, took place throughout the event, where the winning ticket of the grand prize was the last one drawn!

Tickets, sponsored by Service Credit Union, were sold at $100 each with the grand prize being the winner’s choice of a 2021 Harley-Davidson FXBBX Street Bob motorcycle or $10,000. Four runner-up prizes were also awarded. The fourth runner up winning $100 was Thomas Moon, the third runner up winning $250 was Paul LaClair, the second runner up winning $500 was Mike Thompson, and the first runner up receiving $1,000 was Judy Salt. Our grand prize winner, who was not present at the event, was Duane Booth with ticket #300, who selected the 2021 FXBBS Harley-Davidson Street Bob motorcycle.

Those attending and those who watched via Facebook Chamber Raffle enjoyed a spooktacular evening that included the reverse raffle drawing throughout the evening. Attendees enjoyed dinner items, sponsored by Waste Management and dessert, sponsored by Laars Heating Systems. Our technology sponsor for the event was Daystar, Inc. and event programs were sponsored by Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics.

Every ticket drawn during the reverse raffle process, other than the runner ups prizes and the grand raffle prize-winning ticket, was entered into “second chance” prize drawings for 22 different prize packages, with a total value of over $5,400. These second chance prize packages were generously donated by area businesses and organizations. As a consolation prize for the unluckiest ticket holder or the first ticket drawn, a Scratch Ticket Basket containing $200 in scratch tickets, sponsored by The Farmer’s Kitchen, was won by Bill Powers.

In addition to the venue being decorated to the “Friday the 13th” event theme, many of our table sponsors participated in a Table Decorating Contest by decorating their tables. The table decorating contest prize, sponsored by the Chamber, was won by Willem Verweij Physical Therapy.

An auction was also held that consisted of three fantastic packages valued at over $2,200.

A Grill ‘n Chill package included a meat package and $100 gift card, donated by Hannaford Supermarkets-Lilac Mall, a 4-burner grill and propane tank donated by Hervey’s Tire Co., Inc., a cooler bag with swag donated by Bank of New Hampshire, a Growler of beer and t-shirt donated by Muddy Road Brewery, and a grill set donated by D.F. Richard Energy.

An Attractions Package that included tickets to 4 tickets Killington Pico Mountain Adventure Center, Whale’s Tale Waterpark, Alpine Adventures Sky Rider Zipline Tour, and Waterville Valley Summer Adventure was donated by iHeart Media.

An Outdoor Movie Package was donated by The Ridge Marketplace that included drive-in movie passes for Ghostbusters, gift cards to the 110 Grill, Pepper’s Landing, and an Alpaca Cape from Shop Alpaca. In addition, a fire pit was donated by Home Depot, and a patio heater donated by Lowe’s.

Attendees were also treated to a couple of exciting raffles where they could purchase tickets for a Booze Bucket filled with 25 bottles of various liquors, wines, and other items, sponsored by members of the Chamber Board of Directors, staff and Raffle Committee, and the other raffle was for a chance to win one of two firearms, donated by Sig Sauer.

The Chamber wishes to thank all of those involved in producing such a fun and successful event including the committee members, raffle ticket sellers, generous sponsors, The Governor’s Inn, Harley-Davidson Shop of Rochester, second chance prize donors, ticket purchasers, and our fantastic volunteers! We are extremely thankful to all involved for their support.
