City Council approves 45k to fund and enhance 2024 Lilac Family Fun Festival

Published on

The Rochester Recreation Department is pleased to announce the return of the Lilac Family Fun Festival on Saturday, July 13th from 4:00 to 9:00 pm, with a scheduled rain date of Sunday, July 14th.

The Lilac Family Fun Festival is a free, family-friendly event featuring kiddie carnival rides, live entertainment, several vendors and food trucks, games and activities, and the best fireworks show in New Hampshire.

Shortly before the New Year, Director of Recreation Lauren Krans appealed to the Rochester City Council to increase funding to enhance the event, stating “Our team is excited to provide another fun event this year. We recognize that creating positive community traditions is an invaluable investment for the City’s current and future members. We are honored to have this responsibility.

City Council ultimately decided to provide $45k to fund the event for 2024.

Krans said that attendees can expect that all events, vendor booths, and activities will be inclusive of everyone, from children to senior citizens, and foster “fun for the whole family”. She also expressed that it’s the mission of her team to create a shared, positive experience that can become a lasting memory for the whole community.

Event organizers say more information regarding volunteer and vendor opportunities will be posted to www.rochesternh.gov/fun in early March.
