City Council Update: Turner Resigns From Ward 1 Seat A, Successor to Be Chosen in November Election

Published on

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Councilor Patricia Turner (Ward 1 / Seat A) resigned in a letter to Mayor Callaghan, citing family needs and work responsibilities.

“Regrettably, I need to resign from the Council for personal reasons,” said Turner. “Due to a change in family needs and work responsibilities, I am no longer able to attend Council meetings. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It was an honor to serve on the Council, and I enjoyed it very much. I wish everyone well.”

On Tuesday, October 7, City Council accepted the resignation and declared the seat vacant. Since the municipal election is scheduled for November 4, 2025, City Council will not appoint an interim member. Instead, once the election results are certified, the winning candidate for Ward 1 / Seat A will be automatically appointed to complete the remainder of Turner’s current term.
