The City of Rochester is pleased to announce the release of The Rochester Post app, available now in the Apple App Store.
Since its inception in 2020, The Rochester Post website serves as an aggregate for municipal press releases, community happenings, public meetings and hearings, and regional news from the State of NH.
According to Matt Wyatt, the city’s Public Information and Community Engagement Manager, the app aims to make information more readily available on personal devices.
“The website has been very successful over the past year,” said Wyatt. “As we look to grow and expand, it made sense to create a mobile app to help people stay informed.”
The app’s home screen displays top stories, podcasts and videos, and an area to view recent posts in chronological order. It can also send push notifications to users, however, the function is only intended for critical messaging, emergency alerts, weather advisories, and other important bulletins.
Like The Rochester Post website, the app was designed and programmed in-house. Wyatt says that other than his time, the app was developed at no cost to the city, saving thousands.
To download, click here or search the Apple App Store for ‘The Rochester Post’. Currently, the app is available for iOS 13.0 or later and macOS 11.0 or later with an Apple M1 chip or later. An Android version is in development.
