Get Involved in Municipal Government: Next Civics 101 Class Scheduled 7/8

Civics 101 is a one-time course designed to empower Rochester residents and business owners with the knowledge and skills needed for active citizenship.

Hosted by the Office for Public Information and Community Engagement, this interactive presentation and discussion provides tools for understanding how local government works and how individual actions can drive change.

The course outlines several topics, including ‘How Rochester’s Municipal Government Works’, ‘How to Find Information’, ‘How to Vote (and why it’s so important)’, ‘How to Make Your Voice Heard’, and ‘How to Get More Involved’.

Civics 101 is held at various times of the year in order to accommodate as many working schedules as possible. There is no cost for participation. Registration is encouraged; however, all are welcome to attend. Click here to register online.

Sign-ups are available now for the following dates/times:

  • Tuesday, July 8, 2025 (6:00 pm – 7:30 pm)
  • Saturday, November 8, 2025 (9:00 am – 10:30 am)
