Published on

The Historic District Commission for the City of Rochester is pleased to announce a ride-along van tour of downtown Rochester, highlighting significant historical buildings and sites recently featured as part of a walking tour that included several interactive sign markers.

The tour, led by HDC member Martha Wingate, is designed as a companion to the signs installed last spring. Sites include City Hall/Opera House, Fire Station (now City Hall Annex), Post Office (now Rochester District Court), Cocheco River Bridge over North Main Street, Central Square and Parson Main Monument, Rochester Public Library, Scenic Theater, and Wyandotte Woolen Mill, depending on time.

The tour will travel through downtown, making stops along the way. Wingate will share stories and provide the history of downtown Rochester.

The tours will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm Seating is limited to 12 passengers per tour. To sign up, call (603) 817-5026 or email mewingate@live.com. To learn more about the Historic District Commission, visit www.rochesternh.gov/historic-district-commission.
