LILA Productions is proud to announce its 5th Annual LILA Dance Festival, taking place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Rochester Commons Park in Rochester, New Hampshire. This vibrant, free outdoor celebration of dance, artistry, and community brings together both local and international talent to engage audiences of all ages.
LILA Productions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to dance and performance, is committed to nurturing artistic growth and community unity through engaging, inclusive events and programming. This year’s festival will feature over 100 dancers and choreographers—the largest gathering of participating artists in the festival’s history. Local professionals will collaborate with guest choreographers and share the stage with artists from New England, New York, and beyond, offering the community a rare opportunity to experience world-class dance in their own backyard.
LILA Productions invites all members of the community to join this celebration free of charge, aligning with its mission to create inclusive and accessible arts experiences in New Hampshire and beyond.
The festival is supported in part by grants from the New Hampshire Dance Collaborative, New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts, along with contributions from local sponsors and in-kind partners.
Festival Highlights
Guest Choreographer: Millie Heckler
This year’s featured artist, Millie Heckler, a Vermont-based dance artist and founder of puSHErbody, brings her signature style blending contemporary dance, rhythmic footwork, voice, and theatricality. Her commissioned piece—exploring themes of transformation and embodied voice—will premiere on the LILA Mainstage during the 6:00 PM “Celebration” performance.
LiLaB Residents & Emerging Artists
Selected through a competitive process, the LiLaB Choreography Residency highlights New England-based dancers and choreographers. The 2025 residents include Sydney D’Orso of New England Ballet Theatre and Nate Buchsbaum, formerly of Pilobolus Dance Company. These artists bring fresh perspectives and creative collaborations that will culminate in festival performances.
