Longtime Rochester Housing Authority Member Steps Down, City Seeks New Leader to Fill Vacancy

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, during the City Council Workshop meeting, City Manager Katie Ambrose announced a vacancy on the Rochester Housing Authority (RHA) board of directors, following the departure of longtime member Janet Davis.

Ambrose explained that while the Rochester Housing Authority is a nonprofit organization, it is a unique entity established under NH RSA 203, and in Rochester, the City Manager appoints their commissioners.

RHA is dedicated to improving the lives of those in need, specifically through developing and managing affordable housing and operating public housing to promote economic opportunities for the Rochester community.

“If you or someone you know is interested in serving on this impactful board, please submit a statement of interest form to the City Clerk’s office,” said Ambrose. “RHA’s commissioners serve on a five-member board, and full terms are for five years. Board meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month here in Rochester.”

Visit rhanh.org to learn more. Qualified applicants are encouraged to download a Statement of Interest form here. Physical copies can be found in the City Clerk’s Office, 150 Wakefield Street.
