This month the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is alerting residents about what to know when Holiday Shopping to help spot and avoid different types of potential scams.

Specifically, with online shopping and gift card frauds likely to rise this season, the AG’s Office is offering these essential tips to protect yourself:

  • Shop Safely: Verify websites, be cautious of “too good to be true” deals, and use credit cards for added protection.
  • Beware of Gift Card Scams: Never buy gift cards for someone you don’t know and avoid sharing card details with anyone.
  • Watch for Fake Charities: Confirm charity registration with the New Hampshire Charitable Trusts Unit before donating.
