Notice of Public Hearing(s): Charitable Gaming and Bingo Halls, Community Center Solar Array

Notice is hereby given that the Rochester City Council will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH relative to the following matter:

  1. AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 275 OF THE GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF ROCHESTER REGARDING CHARITABLE GAMING AND COMMERICAL BINGO HALLS
  2. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO FY24 GENERAL FUND CIP OF $546,000 FOR COMMUNITY CENTER SOLAR ARRAY PROJECT & ACCEPTANCE OF ANTICIPATED $164,000 INVESTMENT TAX CREDIT-DIRECT PAYMENT

The Rochester City Council will conduct a public hearing in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH, to take citizen input on the following questions:

  • Whether to amend Chapter 275 to allow Commercial Bingo Halls when collaborated with Charitable Gaming Facilities in permitted zones
  • Whether to authorize supplemental appropriation of $546,000 for the purpose of paying costs associated with the construction of a Solar Array for the Community Center and to accept the $164,000 tax credit-direct payment as a General Fund Miscellaneous Revenue

Copies of the proposed Resolutions are available in the City Clerk’s Office.

Citizens are invited to attend the PUBLIC HEARINGS and to ask questions or otherwise speak on the foregoing proposal.
