Participation needed for the Community Development Survey

Published on

The City of Rochester’s Community Development Division has released its 2022-2023 Community Development survey to gather public feedback and opinions on potential funding activities for the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The surveys can be found at the City Clerk’s Office, the Welfare Office at City Hall, the Tax and Auto Registration Office and Recreation Department at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center, Rochester Ice Arena, as well as the Rochester Public Library. The survey is also available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6TLZHTK.

The City of Rochester receives federal grant funding through the Community Development Block Grants program, which is administered through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to provide services and fund projects designed to serve lower-income residents. As part of this funding process, the City must submit an annual action plan that outlines proposed activities and funding for the upcoming plan year. The 2023-2024 action plan will be developed with input from members of the public, City officials, and community stakeholders such as non-profits providing services to City residents and local businesses.

Public input is welcome and encouraged through the entire planning process for the 2023-2024 action plan. Comments and concerns can be submitted to the Community Development Coordinator, Kiersten “Kay” Wright via email at kay.wright@rochesternh.gov or via telephone at 603-335-7519.

Updates on the upcoming action planning process, as well as drafts of the 2023-2024 annual action plan will be posted to the City of Rochester’s Community Development webpage. Action plan updates can be found at Action Plans | rochesternh.
