Beginning April 1, the Rochester Public Library will transition its popular monthly puzzle swap to an ongoing, permanent offering. The swap will be located on the top floor of the library, on the empty bookshelf next to the nonfiction tables.
Participants are invited to bring a completed puzzle (minimum 250 pieces, adult-appropriate) and exchange it for a new one. All puzzles must be complete and placed in a zip-lock bag with the original box or container, and should ideally include an image of the finished puzzle. Those without a puzzle to trade may still take one, with the understanding that they will return a puzzle during a future visit. Due to limited storage space, donations are limited to one puzzle per person at a time.
“Puzzles can be costly and are typically used just once, which led me to the idea of organizing a puzzle swap a few years ago,” explained Abby Rosselli, Programming Librarian. “It has gained such popularity that we now have limited space to accommodate puzzles for our monthly event. The ongoing swap will allow patrons to choose puzzles at their convenience.”
