The Department of Public Works recently contracted Wright-Pierce to evaluate water system improvements along Highland Street, between Salmon Falls Road and Magic Avenue.
This section of Highland Street is a New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) owned and maintained right-of-way. The City of Rochester is coordinating with NHDOT for approval of the new water main’s physical alignment with respect to abutting properties.
On November 4, 2026, Public Works and Wright-Pierce will be performing survey work and staking the proposed water main alignment. Following the survey, the City, Wright-Pierce, and NHDOT will perform a site visit to evaluate.
During this time, you will notice an increased presence of personnel and vehicles within the public rights-of-way. Motorists should use caution as they navigate through the work zone.
For general inquiries or concerns, contact Public Works at (603) 332-4096.
