Published on

Due to rail repair work, the City of Rochester is notifying residents and motorists that Portland Street will be closed at the railroad crossing next to Blue Seal Feeds and Windjammers, until approximately 3 pm on Tuesday, February 22.

According to Rochester Police, no traffic will be able to cross the railroad tracks on Portland Street until work is completed. Detour signage will be in place to direct motorists around the closure.

Motorists will be detoured around the closure either by using Winter and Heaton Street(s) or by using Signal and Summer Street(s). Commercial vehicle traffic will need to utilize Summer Street to Eastern Avenue.
