Recreation Department announces plans for 2021 Summer Camp

Published on

The Recreation Department is excited to announce that information pertaining to camp locations, registration process, deadlines, and camp policies are now available at www.RochesterRec.com or by calling (603) 332-4120, ext. 0.

“Our goal is to offer the most ‘normal’ experience as possible for campers while maintaining proper health and safety guidelines for Covid-19,” said Recreation Supervisor Art Jacobs.

For over 60 years Rec. Summer Camp has provided generations of Rochester youth with positive experiences and a sense of belonging. Camp provides a safe environment, keeps kids outside, active, and having fun. ‘Role model’ staff engage campers in outdoor activities, games, swim, and arts and crafts. Camp takes place rain or shine, with indoor locations at each campsite.

“Our team is well versed in safely managing programs, people, and facilities during these challenging times,” said Jacobs “We’re dedicated to staying up-to-date on COVID-19 related guidelines so we can continue to safely offer recreation opportunities to our community.”

Assistant Director Lauren Krans states that the Department is working closely with the NHRPA (New Hampshire Recreation & Parks Association) and city health officials to stay informed on the State of NH Safer at Home safety guidelines for summer day camps.

“We know there is a lot of excitement surrounding camp this summer so we want to make sure the process to sign up for camp is safe and fair for everyone,” said Assistant Director Lauren Krans. “Families that are interested in signing up should review camp information and submit an online preliminary interest form by April 7th at noon. Those who do not have access to the internet may call (603) 332-4120 ext. 0 for assistance.”
