The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce “Halcyon Angel, Crowned in Azure”, an exhibition featuring a series of works by Daniel Jones in the Carnegie Gallery, at the Rochester Public Library.

Daniel Fiorenza Jones is a versatile illustrator, painter, and art educator currently residing in Lowell, MA. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Hofstra University, where he majored in Fine Arts and minored in Art History and Religion, graduating in 2015.

Jones has collaborated with esteemed painters such as Jim Lee, Chris Martin, and Marylyn Dintenfass. His artistic expertise spans printmaking, large-scale painting, and design. He has dedicated several years to teaching art in New Hampshire’s private and public schools and serves on the Board of Directors for the New Hampshire Scholastic Art Awards. Under his guidance, his students’ artwork has achieved national recognition at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Passionate about advocating for the arts, Jones actively promotes art within public education and the broader New England community. He is also experienced in designing comprehensive curricula across various art disciplines.

Jones’ recent work includes a series of prints depicting rural scenery in New Jersey’s farmland. He describes these works as “simultaneously nostalgic and disquieting,” aiming to evoke emotions of “loss, horror, sentimentality, and acquiescence.”

The exhibition will be on view from September 9, 2024, until December 6, 2024, with a reception planned for November 2, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend. The Rochester Public Library is located at 65 South Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867. Visit www.theoldnorthwind.com and www.rochestermfa.org to learn more.

The museum is sponsored by the City of Rochester, Rochester Main Street, Meredith Village Savings Bank, Creative Guts Podcast, and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.
