The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to exhibit a selection of works by NH artists Laura Harper Lake and Dustan Knight, respectively.
In addition to the two exhibits, the RMFA partnered with Atari to showcase digital works by Marija Velykytė. A reception and free high-score contest will be held on Saturday, January 14th from 10am-4pm in Suite 135 of the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center. Click here to learn more.

Laura Harper Lake
Works by Laura Harper Lake will be on display from January 9, 2023, to March 3, 2023, in the Mayor Harvey E. Bernier Room, in Suite 135 of the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center. A reception will be held on Saturday, January 14th, 2022 from 1pm-4pm. The public is encouraged to attend.
Laura Harper Lake is an interdisciplinary artist and designer who works under the moniker Artful Harper Studios at the Exeter Stations Studios in Exeter, New Hampshire. She has been creatively driven her whole life and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art from Chester College of New England in 2007.
Laura has exhibited her work in various galleries throughout New England and in virtual publications. In addition to making art, Laura co-hosts a weekly podcast Creative Guts, which is also a nonprofit, that interviews creatives from all disciplines and explores the heart of creativity in New Hampshire and beyond. Harper Lake resides in Epping, NH with her husband.
According to Lake, “in painting figures of varying sizes and shapes, and by accepting myself as I am, I aspire to be countercultural and rebel against our society’s ideologies of beauty.”

Dustan Knight
Works by Dustan Knight will be on display from January 4, 2023, to March 3, 2023, in the Carnegie Gallery, at the Rochester Public Library.
Dustan Knight is a professional artist, educator, and art writer. She earned her Masters in Fine Art from Pratt Institute in NYC and her MA in Art History from Boston University. She is a recipient of an NH State Fellowship for the Arts, a MacDowell Colony residency, and a past Cummington Artist Colony resident. Dustan is represented by galleries across the US, including Art Three in Manchester, and the Ogunquit Art Association in Maine.
She’s a contributing writer to Art New England, a frequent juror, and gives demonstrations and workshops in watercolor, art business, and art history. Her work has appeared in Watercolor Magazine, Daniel Smith, Cheap Joe’s, and Ampersand Insider Newsletters. Dustan’s work is in many private and public collections, including Macy’s, Acme and Oracles as well as numerous hospitals and New Hampshire public buildings.
