Rochester Fire Departement to host Free Car Seat Check and Installation event on 8/26

Published on

The Rochester Fire Department is partnering with Rochester Walmart to provide a Free Car Seat Check and Installation event from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Rochester Walmart, 116 Farmington Road.

According to experts, motor vehicle accidents are a leading cause of death for children. The latest U.S. Statics show that approximately 5000 children are involved in motor vehicle accidents annually. 49% of those reviewed in the study had car seats that were installed incorrectly or improperly used. When a car seat is installed and used correctly, you can reduce the risk of injury or death by nearly 71%.

Trained car seat technicians will be on site to educate and assist the public on the proper installation and use of car seats. No appointment needed.

If you can’t make it to the event, the Rochester Fire Department has trained technicians available to assist. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (603) 335-7545, option 2.
