A message from Rochester Main Street, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization:
Rochester Main Street is proud to recognize Kris Connor as our Volunteer of the Month. This one is a bit different because, although she officially volunteers with us for only a couple of events each year, this woman never stops giving back.
Kris has been helping with cleanup days for years, but what is even more impressive is how often she goes out cleaning on her own—not just downtown, but throughout the greater downtown area and across much of the city.
She has been doing this work since at least 2018, and the amount of trash she has picked up over the years would be incredible to see all in one place.
Recently, Kris told us she was running out of places to clean because she now goes out for a few hours and only finds a bag or two of trash. That says a lot about her dedication and the difference one person can make over time.
She has also asked us to let her know when we see areas that need more attention.
Kris, thank you for your years of quiet, consistent, hands-on care for Rochester. Your work makes our downtown, our neighborhoods, and our city better.
If you see Kris out cleaning, please take a moment to say thank you. Offer her a drink, point her toward an area that could use some attention, or join her for a few minutes. Small acts of support can mean a lot to someone who gives so much back.
