Rochester Police Investigating Serious Crash on South Main Street

On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at approximately 5:29 AM, Rochester Police, Rochester Fire, and Frisbie EMS responded to the area of 111 South Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle vs. motorcycle crash.

Upon arrival, officers located a 2010 Nissan Rogue and a 2022 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 that had collided. The motorcycle was pinned under the vehicle. The Nissan had been making a left-hand turn into a business when it crossed the opposite lane of travel and struck the Harley-Davidson. The Harley-Davidson sustained extensive damage and was later towed from the scene. The Nissan had minor damage and was also towed.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as Raymond Cooper, Age 69, of East Rochester, NH. Cooper did not sustain any injuries from the collision.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Hunter Petry, Age 24, of Rochester, NH. Petry sustained severe injuries from the collision and was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Strafford County Regional Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation.
