The Rochester Public Library is introducing a new digital offering, Library Chef, a platform featuring virtual cooking classes for all ages.

Library Chef provides a range of live and on-demand classes for adults, teens, and children. The program includes three live cooking classes each month for adults, as well as two monthly family classes, one for kids ages 5–9 and one for teens ages 10 and up. Sessions are led by expert chefs and professional nutritionists, with occasional guest chefs sharing international culinary techniques.

Participants can also access nutrition-focused sessions to support healthier cooking habits. All classes are hosted directly on the Library Chef platform, and recorded sessions are available for on-demand viewing. Recipes are included, and no external video links are required.

To get started, users can create an account at https://my.librarychef.com/Rochester using a Rochester Public Library card.

“Library Chef enables us to provide our patrons with culinary knowledge, even without in-person cooking classes that are restricted by city ordinances,” said Abby Rosselli, Programming Librarian. “This solution allows us to offer cooking classes that our patrons can access from home using their library card!”
