Rochester Public Library: Our annual Summer Reading Program begins today!

The Rochester Public Library is pleased to announce that the Summer Reading Program will run from Monday, June 19th to August 4th. This year’s theme is “All Together Now”.

Children, teens, and adults are welcome to participate, regardless of reading abilities or other limitations. Once again, the Beanstack app will be used to track minutes read. Readers can register online or download the Beanstack App through the App Store.

According to children’s librarian Christina Paquette, the annual Summer Reading Program is something readers look forward to each year.

“The Summer Reading Program is one of the most anticipated events of the year,” said Paquette. “Anything that encourages young readers is important, especially during the summer months when the kids are not in school. It’s great preparation for the upcoming school year. Plus, it’s a lot of fun!”

According to staff, there will be several raffles with prizes that include outdoor games, an autographed Red Sox picture, room decor, crafts, a Yeti water bottle, a 40oz Stanley Cup, a Book Lover’s Package (a 20oz tumbler, book tote bag, and socks), Goin’ Fishin! (a fishing word search book, fishing lures), and an Airfryer. There will also be prizes from businesses like Jetpack Comics, Sprinkles and Smiles, Lone Oak, Golics, and Barnz’s.

For questions and additional details, visit the library’s website or call (603) 332-1428.
