Splash Into Summer: Rochester Public Pools Now Open for 2025 Season

Rochester Recreation & Arena officially opened the city’s public pools on Saturday, June 22, 2025. The following pools are now open for the summer season:

East Rochester Pool
Located behind the former Nancy Loud School on Green Street, off Portland Avenue.
Address: Green Street/Cocheco Ave, East Rochester, NH 03868
Public swim hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 11:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Friday: 2:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Gonic Pool
Located at Gonic School on Railroad Avenue, off Pickering Road.
Address: Railroad Ave., Gonic, NH 03839
Public swim hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Hanson Pines Pool & Kiddie Pool
Located on Yeagley Way in front of Spaulding High School.
Address: 24 Yeagley Way, Rochester, NH 03867
Public swim hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Public swim is free and open to Rochester residents only. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults must show proof of residency when entering the facility. Youth ages 12–17 must present ID if unaccompanied by an adult. Acceptable forms include a school ID, a screenshot of Infinite Campus, a driver’s license, or a state-issued ID. Rochester youth without these forms of ID may contact the Recreation Office to obtain a Rochester Youth Pool Pass.

Senior Swim is offered weekdays from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Gonic Pool. It is open to adults age 50 and older; no registration is required.

Adult Lap Swim is available weekdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Gonic Pool and is also open to adults age 50 and older. No registration is required.

In the event of thunder or lightning, pools will close for 30 minutes following the last visible lightning strike or audible thunder. Lifeguards are responsible for determining when the pool can safely reopen after the required wait period.
