The Rochester Slammers 8U softball team is in the midst of an extraordinary season, clinching both the New Hampshire State Championship and the New England Regional Championship.

Formed in August 2023, the team boasts an impressive roster of 12 talented players, including six returning athletes from the 2023 season and six new additions. Together, they have achieved an unprecedented record of 30-0, winning all six of the tournaments they have participated in, including: “Tune-Up” to Memorial Day, Russ Monbleau Memorial Day Tournament, Slammer Classic, Grip n Rip, NH State Tournament, and New England Babe Ruth Softball Regional Tournament.

The team members, ranging from 1st to 3rd grade, have exhibited exceptional skill and determination under the guidance of dedicated coaches who have fostered a healthy, positive, fun, and competitive environment. The coaches, Jake Moody, Mike Blouin, Thomas Stewart, and Brandon Congram, have been instrumental in nurturing the talents of each player, creating a cohesive team dynamic where every player thrives.

The highlight of the season came in the New England Regional Championship held in Pittsfield, MA. The Slammers faced a formidable challenge in the championship game, falling behind 8-0 against the powerful hitting team from Stamford, CT. Despite the early deficit, the girls displayed remarkable composure and resilience, rallying to secure an incredible 11-10 victory.

The Rochester Slammers 8U team’s success has been a community effort, supported by dedicated coaches, enthusiastic families, and the unwavering commitment of the players. Their achievements this season are a testament to what can be accomplished through hard work, determination, and a love for the game. The team would also like to thank the generous sponsors who have been instrumental in allowing the team to travel and represent Rochester throughout the region.
